Short trip to Lisbon - Should I include a Museum?

On a short trip to Lisbon, you may have not considered a visit to a Museum for lack of time. Your must see list is full of monuments, good spots to shoot the best city views, stroll Bairro Alto and Chiado just to name a few.
So with so many other things on your schedule you will probably cross out the Museum, and wait for the next trip to Lisbon.

But you might want to reconsider, the National Ancient Art Museum has thought on all the visitors with this problem, and has created the Guide For the Visitor in a Hurry (pdf), for those short in time and looking only for the highlights of it’s collection.

And if your trip to Lisbon is scheduled for a weekend - a big win - on Sunday morning from 10am to 2pm the admission is free.

What you can see at National Ancient Art Museum
The National Ancient Art Museum celebrates the Portuguese Routes and sailings around the world; you can jump into Japan, China, India and Africa without leaving the building.
It’s Collection has more that 44 thousand art pieces, dated from 12th to the 19th century, showing art in so many forms… painting, sculpture, silverware, ceramics, textiles, furniture, prints and drawings.

They let you take a sneak peek of the inside with a Virtual Tour to the Museum.
It’s well worth the visit!
